American Pit Bull Terrier (short coat) Dog

Stitch the Dog needs a home

People are constantly falling in love with Stitch's face. They say he looks like a cute gargoyle. Born in 2011, Stitch came to Best Friends from a rescue organization in California. Although he's had previous heart surgeries, he still has a grade five or six heart murmur. He takes prescription medication for his heart, and he also gets eye drops.Stitch is picky with his doggie friends and prefers females. But he absolutely loves to be around people. When he calms down, he is cuddly and sweet and a great couch potato. However, he does suffer from anxiety. He can get mouthy when he's excited, especially while being leashed, and he has a previous bite history. He can be stubborn on occasion when he doesn't want to do certain activities - especially when it is hot outside.Dogtown caregivers are working to help Stitch overcome his high excitement and mouthiness. He'll do best in a home with a dog savvy person who is willing to continue working through his challenges.
